We found out that Chrissy was pregnant on September 27, 2014. We wanted to wait until we could get our entire family together and surprise everyone at once. We decided the best way to do this without raising suspicion was to host Thanksgiving dinner at our new home, which we had just moved into six days earlier! Our family thought we were just excited about being new homeowners, so when we announced that we were having a baby everyone was very surprised.
The Sunday that followed Thanksgiving, we announced the news personally to our church family and then let the rest of our friends know via Facebook.

Our baby's gender was revealed on January 18, 2015.
An envelope containing the gender was given to us by the doctor. We did not open the envelope. Instead, we gave it to Rebecca Taddei (thank you!) who would be making the reveal cake. We would not know the gender for over a month.
On January 18th, we had both families over for dinner. In excitement, we cut the cake together. The cake flowed with blue M&M's.
We're having a boy!
He lifted his head for the first time when he was one week old. By three weeks he could hold his head up for just over a minute at a time.
His first smile at three weeks old was in the baby swing while Jian was playing with him.
By five weeks he was able to scoot himself into a different direction in his crib.
He found his voice at seven weeks and has been babbling ever since.
